When treating extremity there are, just as with treating the spinal column, two main strategies to remove the disorder: mobilization as well as manipulation. Mobilization is characteriszd by repeated movement through strain relief and/or sliding movement with a low speed and increasing degree (amplitude) to increase the limited movement space. Manipulation is a joint treatment technique, conveying high-speed impulses with little power and small amplitude.
