“Manual medicine“ deals with reversible functional disorders of the support and movement organs by using diagnostic and therapeutic processes. Chirotherapy (from the Greek word “cheiros” for hand” stems from popular medicine, but in the meantime is secure and tried and tested.

Chirotherapy uses manual diagnostic and manual therapeutic techniques on the spinal column and on the extremity joints, serving to find and treat the reversible functional disorders. These disorders may lead to a lot of grievances: feelings o numbness and formication in the area of the cervical spine, headaches and neck pain, vertigo, impaired vision and defective hearing, ringing in the ears, swallowing and voice disorders, sore throat and the feeling of having any foreign matter or lump in the throat or the throat being narrow, sweating and sleep disorder.

After carefully determining the findings and carrying out a physical examination, the patients are positioned on the treatment stretcher in a way that is suitable for the relevant surgery. Following an examination of the spinal column, the segment to be treated is prepared. After a trial pull at the cervical spine (diagnostic test treatment), the therapeutic hand movement is carried out deliberately for mobilization or manipulation. The often audible “cracky” noise is part of the treatment, but not mandatory.
