The “Diskus Triangularis“, in a way the intervertebral disc in the wrist, is the shock absorber located on the outside of the wrist. Besides injuries, after falling on the hand, it also comes to wear and tear of the intervertebral disc. In case of persistent aches and pains it may be indicated to remove the intervertebral disc in the area of the crack in order to avoid further clamping. This operation is carried out in a minimum-invasive way with us. One of the most frequent nerve compression syndromes is the carpal tunnel syndrome. Aches and pains develop over a long period or they occur after accidents. In the ARTICO Sports Clinic, it is first tried to improve the aches and pains by means of local injections, immobilisation and physical therapy. If the compression is so strong that surgery becomes inevitable, then a minimum-invasive operation will be carried out. During the process, the band above the nerve is longitudinally cut through using endoscopic equipment. This technique has advantages compared with the open technique. The scar is essentially smaller (two cuts of eight to ten mm each), resulting in excellent cosmetic results and in a quicker recovery of the power. Resulting from this is also a shorter unfitness for work and far less pain in the post-operative phase. |
