Dr Gernot Felmet, Medical Head of the ARTICO Sports Clinic, is a recognized specialist for joint surgery. After taking a degree in human medicine in Marburg and completing additional schooling in Gießen, Bern, Münster and Bad Mergentheim, Dr Felmet set himself up as an orthopedist in Villingen-Schwenningen in 1990.

Already during his phase as an assistant doctor Dr Felmet attained two patents in hip prosthetics in 1987. Since then, he has been acting as an industry consultant, with further development of prosthetic implantation material and improvement or new development of surgical devices being the key aspects of his activity. His scientific works and publications are dedicated, above all, to the area of osteology, arthoscopics as well as quality analysis of rehabilitation processes in the area of orthopedy.

Being very much in demand as a lecturer, Dr Felmet is glad to pass on his knowledge and experience gained during thousands of operations to the new generation of doctors.  He is authorized to give further training for two years in the subject of orthopedics and is an instructor of the AGA (Working Group for Arthroscopics). Lecture tours in order to explain and demonstrate the foreign implant-free cruciate ligament plastic in the “all press-fit” technique, led him to a lot of European countries and overseas
